Midnight Clear

Hush now,
listen,
hear the stars falling gently in the night.
Gentle,
descent,
heavenly whispers come to earth to cry.

Listening,
reverence,
my fingertips touch the pane and feel the cold.
Melancholy,
listless,
this soul’s silent midnight is oft times told.

Starlight,
rain,
watching as perished wishes are lost to time.
Teardrop,
unseen,
wishing my heart a waltz before it dies.
