Will you make the turn this time around?

Anxiety train on the track.
You know there was a brake yesterday.
Where is it to be found?

The waking nightmare.
Running towards the dark end of nothing.
Are you running out of time?

Clinging to reason.
Battling the hostile distress that’s badgering.
Why can’t you control your mind?

They come offering drugs.
Selling yesterday’s nightmare in slow motion.
Now you don’t give a damn?

There’s an alternative aid.
Meditation, mindfulness, and positive self-talk.
Control you can understand.

Try clarity over stupor.
Time to take a moment to ponder a question,
“Why didn’t they offer this to me?”

Sadly, because it’s free.
