Love’s Betrayal

Acidic taste,
so much trust gone to waste,
lies shared as gifts
thrust upon the unsuspecting in cruel haste.

Arched back,
the knife deep,
blood running again and again and again
until there’s none to bleed.

Blood tears,
they dry to ashes,
tragedy becomes living cremation,
a red-hot blade that gashes.

Tender child,
in love’s betrayal,
suffering hurt’s cruel marks
amidst anger’s denial.

Many voices,
screaming in silence,
little victims held accountable
for the world’s violence.
