The Short Story

Well, now I’ve gone and done it. In my blog post last week I said I’d replace the old online serial with a short story. I did exactly that just a short while ago. Whew! A week ago this was a first draft. Now it’s a short story and I’m cross-eyed. It’s called Barriers, and at just over 4,000 words it’s a 30 minutes or less time investment.

I’ll never be where I think I should be, but I believe this story represents another step in my writing evolution. It’s about Marsla, a young healer, hesitant to believe in herself who’s confronted with the choices that will determine her path. I don’t consider myself a YA writer, but this would qualify.

I’ll always give any respectful comments and criticisms a voice. Find an error? Go ahead and comment. I was the author and editor. I don’t know about you, but that makes me nervous. For those who care, this should read as Deep POV.

Although I’m sharing a link to the story in this post, it’s permanent location is under Short Stories on the website’s Main Menu.

My thanks to all who’ve followed, commented, and supported me, especially when I’ve stumbled. This is for all of you. I hope you enjoy it.

And now, Barriers…
