Night Editing

Editing in my sleep,
shifting words on an alphabet sea.
Dream. Vision. Fantasy.

The lone surviver in a shipwrecked story,
tossing words overboard in allegory.
Fogged. Caffeinated. Solitary.

How long the days and how long the pages?
How long on the revision waves to escape the danger?
Saved. Awake. Eager.

  2. Christina for as long as it takes, we write and we re-write and we know when its done. And then we want to do it all over again. Are we crazy? Maybe but Im a happy kind of crazy when doing the thing I love.

    • Yes, a happy kind of crazy. I labor day after day, and have logged as much as sixteen hours in a day, and yet I’m back each morning. We’re interesting creatures, we humans, that we’d put such effort into creating.
