Labels are tags and they’re everywhere,
we’re chasing them, they’re chasing us,
‘cause it’s a game out there.
Too old, not old enough, and never just right,
we’re defined as not good enough
by those out of sight.
We’re told to shirk labels, be ourselves,
until our non-conformity
stands out on the shelf.
The label that matters, the one we need,
is the contribution made
by all human beings.
