That was close.
They almost came,
almost took the family away,
almost banished us to that dreadful place.
they took those neighbors.
You know, the “others” we hardly knew.
At least they took them and not us too.
What’s that sound?
At the door, our greatest fear.
Nowhere to run, and now they’re here.
Begging for our lives.
But there’s no one we might call.
While we were safe—they took them all.
