It was all she ever wanted,
enough to fill her heart,
love and tenderness
affection to never part.
A hand to hold when walks were cold,
a winter’s evening in a snowy park.
A perfect life, her imagined life,
baring no likeness to a life torn apart…
Until he asked and the heartache passed,
a dream of cherishing for her heart.
