Stepping down,
she was one of many arriving
as a sea of unfamiliar faces turned,
an ever changing ocean she’d seen before.
One familiar face she always sought,
for it was higher than the others.
One set of arms she always sought,
for they meant she was home.
His lips to hers told her so.
