On her knees begging for acceptance,
a heart’s depth that was her nakedness,
the essence she possessed.
Lifeforce laid bare.

She learned two reactions.
Those who turned away.
Those who faded.
Fading took time.
Scars left behind lingered.

She lingered,
a small room unto itself.
Thriving was in a locked room.
No words spoken.
No need.
In isolation she faded.
