Thinking About It

Posted on August 8, 2017 by Christina Hawthorne — 1 Comment ↓

People walk, people talk, and they go on with their lives while those in lavish abundance decide who lives and who dies. It’s odd, it’s strange how often those who Continue Reading →

The Surplus Population

Posted on April 11, 2017 by Christina Hawthorne — 1 Comment ↓

How do you reduce Dickens’ surplus population? Let the old ones die, ship the young ones off to fight, and those who remain are virtual slaves or you lock them Continue Reading →

In America

Posted on July 16, 2016 by Christina Hawthorne — 1 Comment ↓

Seventeen seventy-six in America: people dying, tragedy and horror, demanding the rights they should already have. Eighteen sixty-three in America: people dying, tragedy and horror, demanding the rights never shared. Continue Reading →

Hatching

Living Not to Die

Posted on November 21, 2015 by Christina Hawthorne — 1 Comment ↓

Denying wholeness, fairness, and what we need to live. Denied equality, opportunity, that’s no way to exist. When we swallow the hating we’re barely breathing and living not to die. Continue Reading →

Ontyre Passages

Ontyre Passages

Alive and well in the Rocky Mountains. I'm a fantasy writer who also dabbles in poetry, short stories, and map making. My Ontyre tales are an alternative fantasy experience, the stories rich in mystery, adventure, and romance. Alternative fantasy? Not quite steampunk. Not quite gothic. In truth, the real magic is in those who discover what's within.
